The University of Sheffield Singers' Society

James has been a member of SingSoc since September 2017, when he began studying for an undergraduate degree in Music at the University of Sheffield. Following its genesis during his first term, James took up the role of helping to lead and conduct the society's newest choir, Bombus, in January 2018. Since then, James has arranged music for and conducted Bombus in many SingSoc concerts, including on the tour to France in the summer of 2019. Beyond conducting the choir, James has been on the SingSoc committee twice, including as Chair in the 2019-20 academic year. Having graduated in June 2020, James has gone on to complete an MA in Composition at the university, and is a current PhD candidate in the department
