Ruth Nicholson

Chorus and Bombus Accompanist

Ruth Nicholson completed their Music degree in 2012 at Royal Holloway, University of London, where they held an instrumental scholarship enabling them to study piano at the Royal College of Music. They gained an MA in Music in Development in 2016 at SOAS, University of London, and returned to their home city of Sheffield in 2017.

 

Ruth works as a musician full-time, accompanying choirs and soloists, recording for other artists, performing in hospitals and other community settings, and teaching piano and violin. They play fiddle with the Heist Ceilidh band and work as Musical Director for Homos and Houmous, an LGBT Jewish performance company.

 

Ruth joined SingSoc as an accompanist in September 2019. Aside from music, Ruth enjoys cycling, tending to their allotment, and being outside.
