Yang Guo was born and raised in Sheffield, where he attended Tapton School, and studied piano under Valentina Kalashnik. In 2008, he left Sheffield to pursue some oddly-named degrees in philosophy: first the philosophy ‘Tripos’ at Trinity College, Cambridge, then an ‘MPhilStud’ at King’s College London. In 2017 he completed a PhD in metaphysics at Durham. As an amateur musician, Yang has been privileged to play and perform in a variety of chamber, choral, orchestral, and solo settings, and very much hopes that his luck will continue.
